SF Music Hall of Fame (SFMHOF)
The SF Music Hall of Fame Gallery, spread across two floors and multiple hallways, honors over 90 of the most iconic artists and bands that have come out of the Bay Area; including, Green Day, E40, Stevie Nicks, Carlos Santana, Metallica, Janis Joplin, MC Hammer, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Neil Young, Dead Kennedys, Kehlani, 2Pac, Tom Waits, Chuck Prophet, and many more! Each gallery image is accompanied by originally written tributes by prominent national writers such as Ben Fong-Torres (Rolling Stone Magazine), Emma Silvers (KQED), Joel Selvin (SF Chronicle), and more. An audio tour is also available if that's more your jam!
The SFMHOF Expansion aims to expand the ideas of the Gallery through carefully crafted exhibits with artist memorabilia, guided audio tours, local tours, and other unique offerings.
Rehearsal
WHERE WE WERE
Over 14 studios with basic plug & play equipment: PA, drum set, amps, and keyboard. Hourly sessions (2-3 hour blocks) were inexpensive and accessible for all levels of experience. We also held community-driven events like the "Free Stage Series", "Open Mic Night" and "Music City Sessions"
WHERE WE'RE GOING
We aim to become an “incubator” for musicians who want to get a leg up in the industry. We plan to provide the same plug and play studios as before - while also expanding into providing digital streaming & recording resources. We will help create even more events (on and off site) for our community, and provide education through classes, experiences, and pull inspiration from the SF Music Hall of Fame & Gallery.
